Details:
The Shimshaws are Todd McCombs (vocals, organ, piano, guitar) and Scott McCombs (vocals, guitars, bass, studio geek). Additional musicians on their newest CD include Kevin Lehman (drums), Cristin Patterson (violin & cello in Cannonball, First Valentine), Tom Capek (B4 Organ in Another Life, All Over You), Lyndel Navarro (guitar solos in Ocean City & All Over You), Gary Yerkins (MIDI programming & arranging in First Valentine).

Todd McCombs and Scott McCombs have written and performed songs together and individually for the last fifteen years. They were members of seminal Washington DC-based band The Quesadas in the early 1990''s. The Quesadas recorded three well-received albums and toured the Mid-Atlantic area extensively, including infamous shows at CBGB''s in New York City and the original 930 Club in Washington D.C.

After the untimely demise of The Quesadas in 1994, Scott McCombs moved to Colorado. The brothers continued to write and record songs that lead to the release of their first album, "Good Times Machine " in 1999. Their band at the time, Those Meddling Kids, evolved into The Shimshaws with the release of Subcutaneous in 2004. The CD was well received by critics and fans alike. Highlights included a live performance at KBCO Studio C in Boulder, Colorado and solid radio play at independent radio stations in the US and Europe.

The Shimshaws wrote and recorded a long list of songs between 2005 and 2007 before deciding on the final cut that would make up their latest release "Ear to the Wire." They recorded at TMK studios in Highlands Ranch, CO and Erik Gantt''s home studio in Fort Collins, CO when they were not skiing and/or drinking excessively. To give the songs that magical rock sheen, their good friend Kevin Lehman added drum tracks in February 2007 at Colorado Sound Studios.

The album was mixed by JP Manza with help from the Shimshaws and Erik Gantt in March 2007 at Colorado Sound. JP has worked with various artists including Yo Flaco, T.V. On The Radio, Yellowcard and Franz Ferdinand. The CD was mastered by Tom Capek at Colorado Sound in May 2007.
