This is Angel Tech’s second e.p. from 1999. A four star review from DJ Magazine (UK) in October that year says it all really:
“Whilst described under the alternative sub heading of ‘songs about boys and girls looking at stars’, (a description not too far off the mark,) ep#2 actually presents the gift of time and space, allowing you to come to your own conclusions. ‘North Star’ and ‘Pegasus’ contain all the elements of peaceful charm and evocative melancholy that run deep, like gentle undercurrents, through each of the four tracks. They are songs for special moments, the kind of which you put on a summer tape for friends but never quite know what to put either side… Try the sounds of Phillip Glass, Badly Drawn Boy or Radiohead for continuation of an appropriate theme. ‘Andromeda’ and ‘Cruz Do Sol’ collectively suggest that the initial calm is not all that it seems. Surges of restless energy and organised disruption generate ripples of disturbing emotion and comfortable unease on the musical surface, as the e.p. moves towards resolution. Creating a sum that is greater than its beautifully compelling and brilliant parts.” FS.
Originally released as a limited edition CD by Palm Pictures in 1999, this e.p. is now re-released by Brain-gel Records.
