Details:
Owen Sartori has been performing and writing music for over two decades, starting his career as a 9 year old rock drummer, and later as the front-man for Push and A Band Called Delicious, two well-received and well-reviewed modern rock outfits. In early 2005 he decided to shed the comfortable familiarity of the band scene in favor of a solo musical endeavor.

"I guess I decided that I was finally done hiding behind a band, you know?" Owen explains. "That period of my life was pretty shaky, as it turns out it was all good, but at the time you don''t know that. You just know the hurt, which incidentally makes for pretty good songwriting fodder."

That year Owen joined up with the owner of Burst Records, songwriter/producer Daniel Holter, and for the past six months the two have been working on Owen''s first solo effort, tentatively titled "Another Beautiful Day in the Cube". It''s a largely personal record drawing from Sartori''s dealings with loved ones, age milestones, failing relationships, and as the title suggests, corporate work culture.

"It''s actually quite a funny record," Owen remarks. "I usually combat difficult situations with humor, and the past couple of years have been pretty tough, so... That''s probably why the record is turning out to be really, really funny in spite of the subject matter."

Holter and Sartori have enlisted some of the recording industry''s heavy hitters to help with this record, including Kenny Aronoff (Drums) - John Mellencamp, Alanis Morissette, Smashing Pumpkins, Michelle Branch; Tom Tucker (Producer) Prince, Lucinda Williams, Johnny Lang; John Ferraro (Drums) - Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Barry Manilow, David Benoit; Dave Marotta (Bass) - Toni Braxton, Phil Collins, Manhattan Transfer, Adam Sandler; and Chris Mosher (Keyboards, Programming) Bon Jovi, Steven Curtis Chapman, Sixpence None the Richer.

Continuing a tradition of writing quirky, hooky, smart pop tunes, Owen is beginning to walk the path of his most admired singer/songwriter predecessors like Jason Falkner, Aimee Mann, Ben Folds or Glen Phillips, all of whom made names for themselves fronting bands before moving to more satisfying solo careers.

With that in mind, "Cube" is evolving into a diverse yet cohesive record, conforming closely to Owen''s signature songwriting style while taking a direction which many fans of his music have not yet heard. An official release date has not yet been set, but fans can expect to hear pre-release material by summer of ''06.
