This 2008 release finds the Seattle band expanding a bit on their indie pop/chamber pop sounds of their first CD, "Tuesdays & Wednesdays". This offering includes more vocal tracks, with nice boy/girl harmonies and some interesting string arrangements. It also highlights some unusual instrumentation that accents their core of guitar, bass, drum, and keys - like the inclusion of vibes, melodica, banjo, ukulele, glockenspiel, and lap steel. (Think Brian Wilson''s “Pet Sounds” or “Smile” for the modern popster). Fans of Poland’s well-established cinematic sounds won’t be disappointed, and will also find new enjoyment in the more classic pop songwriting approach in many of the new songs.
