UTOPIA COMPLEX
is an instrumental album.
Avant-garde, or world music for the eclectic ear.
The cover photography by me is a play on our modern age of genetic manipulation and our relentless desire or complex to form some sort of Utopia or perfection in all aspects of life. This Utopia complex inhibits us from enjoying the present, enjoying things as they are because we are always focus on the flaws, and so everything becomes a problem to be solved.
01. I can''t understand you - This is a short intro to the album and a light hearted
play on the misunderstood artist.
02. Tuesdays Conceptual Desperation - This song was recorded in one take, it is an improvisational piece and reflects my mood and state of mind at the time of performance.
03. Lost within a Heart beat - This song was recorded in one take, it is an improvisational piece and reflects my mood and state of mind at the time of performance.
04. S.O.S. - This song was recorded in one take, it is an improvisational piece, I set the drum beat to the S.O. S Morris Code.
05. Victoria Christmas song - This is a song I wrote on Christmas day when I was living in Victoria B.C, Canada.
06. Aware with no Ego- This Instrumental Opera is a voyage from Ego to the void.

12. Still Birth- In this song I tried to create a different moods weaving together simultaneously though out the piece, melody against a melancholily bass line, that has an ever constant grinding tension running through out. Moments of beauty but never at ease. Never relaxed, always under pressure.
