This disc has necessitated a new aesthetic departure. As well, apart from tracks 2 and 4, all the titles have incorporated a different method of composition from before - one which would have been quite difficult to realise prior to the ready availability of digital audio workstations.
The procedure consists of creating the outer structure and major themes, followed by the recording of written and improvised elements, then the editing, reworking and often re-recording of the audio and electronic material.
This is particularly useful in the vocal works in which one voice can create layers of 6 or 7 voices at a time.
