In August 2003, Los Angeles-based songwriter/guitarist, Sean Stratton, and drummer, Tristan Destry, both English teachers whose artistic sense blends eclectic influences, joined forces with vocalist Gina Venturini, a Nebraska native with experience ranging from pop to opera. A year later the group began recording the upbeat, edgy love-song compilation, _Happy Moon_. Since fall of 2004, Genius Girl plays clubs and festivals around the Los Angeles area.
