Details:
Glenn had his first song recorded in 1952 by his uncle, the late Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry artist, Ernest Tubb. Since then, he has had over two hundred songs recorded by artists in all fields of music, such as Dwight Yoakam, Anne Murray, Charlie Pride, Joe Tex, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Kentucky Headhunters, George Jones, Tammy Wynette and many others. One of his songs, ''SKIP A ROPE", earned a Grammy nomination. "HOME OF THE BLUES", was an early hit for Johnny Cash while George Jones and Tammy Wynette topped the charts with his "TWO STORY HOUSE". Glenn''s first record was for the Mart Record label. Later he recorded for Dot Records before settling in at the Decca label for most of his career. Glenn was a frequent guest on many radio and TV shows and made personal appearances all across the U.S. and Canada with many Grand Ole Opry artists as well as the boys from Memphis; Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. Glenn spent two years in the army and returned to Nashville to record for MGM Records and later for Mercury Records. It was at this time that Glenn discovered publishing companies would pay him to write exclusively for them. For the next 20 years he was a staff writer for the top publishers in Nashville. Since then, he has started his own company and writes for himself. Currently he is writing musical plays, novels and screenplays. He is also acting in movies now. He recently had a supporting role in an action comedy film titled ''SPARKLE AND TOOTER" which he also wrote the music for. It should be released in the fall of 2008. He is still performing at the listening rooms around Nashville and also performs at the Nashville Cowboy Church and the Pigeon Forge Cowboy Church which are broadcast worldwide on the inter-net, audio and video. Glenn still resides in Nashville with Sue, his wife of forty-six years.
