God Showers Bring Black Flowers is a side project of musician James Girouard. It is a mix of heavy Lyrical/Americana Experimental music. God Showers started in 07'' with James Girouard and former memeber Craig Groat. They spent the whole year together writing and working on "Ghosts" Ep eventually leading to "Sleep Well and Dream of Me". Craig Groat recently dropped out of the music scene while James met Annie Long and formed "The Avalon Parade" combining and mixing different elements of God Showers with a more delicate softer sound. Annie and James have been writing music together for a year and have been able to put out 5 albums and 2 Ep''s. James Girouard''s solo project God Showers is much more Folk influenced taking from such inspirations as Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and Ryan Adams. James is currently working on his latest album "Charades" which will be released in the summer.
On this album he delivers somber and heavy lyrical driven pieces. His voice flows elegantly over the music almost as it''s own instrument. The music has a very refreshing sound to it, the message calls out for self-belonging and hope. "The Grey" is folk influenced while the recordings remain raw in thier purest form.
