Details:
The Bloody 9’s hail from the small town of Shepherdstown, (a.k.a. She-town), West Virginia. The band formed in December of 2006, and played their first show on March 17th, 2007. Since then, they’ve kept busy recording ‘Lucifer’s Blues’, and gigging. May 30th, 2008 marked the release of the aforementioned debut album on TooManyRecords.
‘Lucifer’s Blues’ was recorded and mixed in six sessions between June and August, 2007 at Creative Age Studio, She-town by Joe House and The Bloody 9‘s. Mastering was conducted by the illustrious Eamon Loftus at C&C Studios in Sterling, VA. The hurried approach to the recording of this album really produces a raw, honest feeling of the band, live.
The band’s influences widely vary- from Tom Waits to the Misfits, Elmore James to Nirvana, from Miles Davis to The Minutemen.
