“BONEZ” BIOGRAPHY

It seems silly to hear the North Carolinian “Bonez” rap “Allow me to reintroduce myself” in his “Game On Lock Intro”, until you find out that he is no newcomer to the game, and two things are for sure - his time is now, and he is not playing, one bit. Sitting down to talk with the front-runner of the N.A.M. Records, Inc. stable reveals plenty, but only exactly what Bonez wants to share. Born on August 9, 1986, Mark Lee Gore fell in love with the game early on. He got serious about rapping in high school and formed a group that experienced some local success, and then fell apart under the pressures of being true to the music and irreconcilable differences. Bonez kept hustling, and then linked up with an Indie label. All of which begs the natural question… what’s so different? According to him, you can start with your own personal swagger and then develop your own character found in his flow of music. When asked about his influences, he mentions the greats and what makes them so: T.I,’s cocky confidence, Juelz Santana’s keen style-chameleon capabilities, Biggie’s truth-speaking and sick magnetism.

On Bonez’s ‘08 release “Game on Lock,” songs like the dirty south club banger “Stomp Em Out,” the commercial street anthem "Bubble Gum Rappers featuring 50 cent" and the ladies new fun up-tempo booty shaking track “Milk It" showcase the distinctive, singular style Bonez is determined to be recognized for. DJ Mike Tech from Foxy 99.1 FM in Fayetteville, NC is already a true believer and says that this artist needs to be on! Bonez won Foxy 99.1FM “Battle of the Beatz” competition with his hit single “Stomp Em Out.” Fans called into the station and voted his single as number 1. Bonez has also had the opportunity to be featured on Foxy 99.1FM “Independent Spotlight” where his music is played on air with other independent artist and have his music uploaded on https://www.tradebit.com website. “Stomp Em Out” is Bonez first release off his album and is the #2 most requested song at Foxy 99.1FM. Bonez is voted the #1 favorite “Independent Spotlight” artist on Foxy 99.1 FM web page.

“Bonez is the next Jay-Z or Tupac… he should be the next main act to make it out of North Carolina. People are waiting for Petey Pablo and Bonez to do a collaboration.” And after that… After the big time? “I want to go back and give back,” says the Cerro Gordo West Columbus High graduate. “I want to make my school a better place for kids to go.” Talking about the future and what he will accomplish in it excites him. “I’m going to be a role model. I want to build recreation centers and keep kids out of trouble.” But when one listen to songs like “Carolina Walk” and “Milk It” tells you to be clear - playtime is over. “It’s not about being famous,” Bonez says, leaning forward just slightly. “It ain’t about being known. It’s about a voice that needs to be heard.”
