God''s New Perfection is a group that God put together to play a major role in the advancement of not just Gospel music, but the Kingdom of God as a whole. God first touched Keith "Lil Bub" Wesley Jr., who was preaching murder in the Gansta rap group "Mass 187". At the time everything seemed all good for Keith, because that group was on the verge of breaking from the underground and into the mainstream markets, but God changed all that. God made every word he spoke sour to his own tongue and opened his eyes to all the wrongs that were around him.
The son of a preacher, Keith was sitting in a service where Bishop Skip Horton was preaching and gave Biblical meaning to the number system. The number "1" stands for God for there is only one. The number "8" stands for newness of life or a fresh start and "7" stands for perfection. God''s New Perfection was born, but God was not done. Across the country was Jabbar "The Brand Newest" Wesley, Keith''s younger brother, who was being scouted by major league baseball, but he too realized God had something else for him. In their home church was Jason "J-Stone" Brown and Rudy "Baby Ru" Wesley, who is the cousin of Keith and Jabbar.
In 1999 this Five-Fold ministry became complete when, at an audition for a Shirley Caesar opening act, they met Paul "Big Law" Law. Keith and Paul had met previously when Paul and his group had laid vocals on a song for "Mass 187" years earlier, but now they were saved and trying to achieve similar goals. With the vocals and production that Big Law brought, blended with the powerful rap style and ability to interpret The Word and make it relatable for this generation, G.N.P. started creating music destined to pierce hard hearts and open blind eyes. All the members are young men and range in age from 21 to 28. This group is willing to be on the frontline and ready for whatever God has in store. Musically, you can''t get more Midwest than Kansas City, Missouri and for the listener that means Word +North + South + East + West = Perfection!!
