- “Anything at All”

Corinne Gooden’s debut album, “All My Days” has been a labor of love, a look inward, a chapter closed, and a door opened. With the help of co-producer and engineer Benjamin Wilson, as well as other very talented musicians, bringing to life her once-guitar/vocal recordings has been an exciting step forward. These songs, which span what seems a life-time, are often very personal, dealing with love, loss, regret, hope, and the reckoning that comes with standing at a crossroads.

Born in Hendersonville, NC, in the middle of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, Corinne has always been blessed with the opportunity to pursue her everchanging dreams. Dancing since the age of three, she developed a love for performing early on. Constantly encouraged and supported by her parents, she naturally gravitated toward the theater, where her talent and love for singing really started to grow. Never content to sit still, she also played trumpet in the highschool jazz and symphonic bands, lead an all-girls a cappella group, and spent three nights a week taking and teaching dance classes. She wanted to find a way to focus her passions of dance, singing and acting into one, so she went to school, auditioned and was accepted into the Musical Theater Department at Florida state. Shortly after receiving her BFA degree, she moved to New York.

Since about the age of 13, Corinne had also developed a burning love for rock and roll music, her most impressionable years spent listening to artists like Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, CCR, Fleetwood Mac, or James Taylor on her way to some adventure or another, and she had always dreamed of standing on stage performing her own songs, playing her own music, and telling her own stories. One day, while sitting in her tiny apartment in Astoria, NY, she sat down and wrote one, pouring her heart on the page about someone who had broken her heart. Barely able to play three chords on the guitar, it turned out fairly simple, but it was the turning point for her. It was a very cathartic way to deal with the pain of loss. She began taking a deeper interest in learning the guitar, and spent her time riding back and forth on the subway writing in her journal about life and how it affected her, and finally decided that becoming a songwriter was the path she ultimately wanted to take. Living in New York was a time of the highest highs and the lowest lows. It was a city that taught her to be tough, showed her the callousness and depth of the human spirit, but it also taught her a lot about herself and what she could be capable of.

She wanted to gain as much knowledge as possible about music and the process of creating it, so she decided to go back to school and learn about Audio Engineering. Being the only girl in her class, she was enrolled in the New York branch of SAE, and began to see just how vast the music business was. She was excited about the new knowledge and the independence she was gaining, but being alone, and much of the time surrounded by strangers, she decided that she wanted to be a little closer to home with the people she loved, free to follow her dreams in a more comfortable environment. She transferred to the Nashville branch midway through receiving her certificate.

She has lived in Nashville two years now, and has continued to pursue her dreams of performing. She plays frequently around Nashville and has started to branch out regionally. She has recorded some other artist’s work as well, and will always continue to explore engineering and producing, but her heart will always be behind the mic, pouring out her heart and soul through her voice and music.

Within her songs, she tries to keep an objective viewpoint of the relationships between the characters. There is no one side to anything in this world, and sometimes the journey to ultimately finding peace within ourselves is found with the finality of decision and acceptance, no matter what the outcome. Oftentimes we find ourselves in a situation, where we must look at where we’ve been in order to more clearly see the way forward, and that is where she is looking now...
