A loud roar, the likes of which had never before been heard, surrounded my wife and I in Gallatin, Tennessee on April 6, 2006. We took refuge in the only inside room of our house, the advice given by the Weather Channel when they issued the last tornado warning...right before the lights went out. When the noise subsided, we arose to total devastation, amazed that we were still alive.
At this point, I am positive we were both clinically insane. So being of unsound mind and luckily sound body, we ran like scared rabbits to upstate New York. It is here that over the last couple of years we have worked our way through having narrowly escaped death and trying to understand what higher purpose we were spared to perform...perform...that must be it.
After the shakes subsided, the night mares still come occasionaly, I set about writing and recording some new songs and singing a few old covers from my younger days. These recordings have helped us work through what we experienced and that is why this album is called The New York Work Tapes.
I hope you enjoy them...Thanks for listening.
