Lord Kass (rapper out of N.C.) and Nicess (producer out of Ottawa) are young, motivated, talented, and ready to build. They started recording their first album (not a mixtape!!) in early 2007 after meeting shortly before. The process was slow, so the two had to move in and live together to finish the process. Nicess would produce a beat, then drop it to Kass who would release tension and emotion on the track. They then would hit Nicess'' studio, Critically Sound Studio, to master the track from start to finish. They recorded over 50 songs for the first alubm, but only 17 made the cut. Now, with the studio being renovated into a brand new world class recording facility, Illyfe has more material to record and more albums to drop. Keep your eyes and ears open for this duo, they will be around for a while.
