Details:
Blending elements of metal, prog, and hardcore, Intrust separates themselves from the rest of the pack with their unique approach to music.
Formed in Dallas, TX in July of 2004 by guitarist Todd Collins and bassist Regi Taylor, Intrust set out with one simple goal in mind...to play music that meant something while being uncompromisingly and unapologetically heavy.
They succeeded.
Joined by vocalist Chris Hodges in December of 2005, Intrust was re-energized. Not only was his unique vocal style a perfect fit for their musical vision and direction, but he also added a whole new dimension musically with his songwriting capabilities, and allowed the band to stretch their legs even more.
While Chris joining the band did not give Intrust enough members to perform their music live, it did give them enough members to record a demo.
In May of 2005, the members of Intrust recorded the songs "The Markings of Animosity", and "Defamation", with personal friend and drummer Ben Tedder from Tulsa, OK.
To say the songs were well received would be an understatement.
The recordings were done simply to have something to play for other musicians as a way to attract quality talent to audition. However, on the strength of those recordings, Intrust was being asked to play shows that they couldn''t, as they didn''t have the necessary members.
After months of frustrating auditions in an attempt to find talented members, their patience finally paid off.
From those auditions came Ethan Laurence who joined the band in April of 2007 at keyboards, and after auditioning over twenty-five drummers, Ben Tedder officially joined the band in May of 2007.
With their full line-up finally in place, Intrust headed into the studio to record their first EP "Fire From The Skies", which consisted of new versions of "Defamation" and "The Markings of Animosity", and contained three new recordings "D and X", "Tainted Numbers", and "Fire From The Skies".
The band released "Fire From The Skies" in late October of 2007 and haven''t looked back since.
