Jack Schauer is a singer-songwriter and author from Fargo, North Dakota, who has performed at small and larger venues throughout the Upper Midwest. He has already recorded and produced two CDs, "My Sisyphus," back in 2003, and last year, "Mediterranean Eyes," 2007. His major musical influences include Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, and James Taylor.
Jack Schauer has just recorded a new CD by the title "The Homecoming," which is a collection of songs both past and present. Most of it is highly personal in nature, as well as involving a great deal of political and social commentary. It is overtly political in nature, taking issue with global poverty and starvation, including the notion of sharing, as espoused by the spiritual leader, Maitreya. He also does material highly critical of the American Iraqi War. In addition he has already written a book entitled "The Outsiders," which also deals with the Iraqi War, within the perspective of existential and philosophical history. This book was published last year as well through Outskirts Book Publishing Company.
Jack also has been signed with Paramount Inc., a company, located down in Nashville, which works directly with songwriter''s in terms of marketing and publishing, one song''s once demos have been made of them. Four of his song''s have already been chosen to appear on Paramount''s "Rising Star," CDs, which include the best material that Paramount has developed, for a specific quarter, (three per year). He has appeared on three of these "Rising Stars" CDs 2006-2007. The songs which appear on these limited edition CDs, include "Mediterranean Eyes," "Blossom Spring," "Hangman, Hangman," and "Love is Like."
