Niagara Falls have been called "thunderous" "crashing" and "meditative". Their range of sound is great, and each performance is a unique event. Their instrumentation changes constantly, and they can be seen playing anything from electric banjo and kazoo to various bells, drums and percussion, thrift store keyboards. Formed in 2004 by Norm Fetter, Jeff Carpineta, Erich Breimhurst, and Jenn Lee, Niagara Falls is a constantly evolving organism.
Zwei is their second release on Honeymoon Music, and is a limited edition of 500. The gatefold covers are hand silk screened on heavy textured paper, and include drawings by Erich Breimhurst.
"These folks are from Philadelphia, where they''ve got their own little universe of improv-psych space-folk type acts. (See the excellent Honeymoon Music Compilation CD release for many examples.) Niagara Falls take some of the fallout from the misterioso northeastern NNCK approach and give it their own (maybe slightly gentler) sub-regional spin. This Niagara Falls CD is a lovely looking and sounding object. The jams tend to be long, sparse, hushed, and eerily pretty, but they are also willing to quicken the pulse every now and then, sometimes even breaking out into the open and looking around, moaning and groaning a little bit.
