Pop Destroyer was formed in LA by co-workers Sylvan De La Cruz, Guitar/Vocals, and Adriel Hernandez, Drums, in the Spring of 2007. The original idea was to go into the studio to record a few songs that Sylvan was going to use the songs to put up a fake band page on a social net-work website. After some time spent rehearsing the songs, Sylvan and Adriel decided to simply form a band that would play in the LA area. Adriel''s neighborhood and childhood friend David Ybarra was recruited to play bass, thus Pop Destroyer was formed. The band played its first show in Highland Park/LA, in May 2006. They spent the next four months playing lower and mid-level clubs in LA, and then headed into their friends home recording studio to record a demo. In the fall of 2006 the band took a 6 month break and then began rehearsing and writing the material that was to become their debut CD Divided States. Pop DEstroyer is a indie rock band that plays for fun and that would like to record and distribute CD''s on the internet. Fame and fortune are not what this band is about. The main mission of the band is to deliver strong pop n rock songs that have strong social-political lyrics. Look for Pop Destroyer to be playing shows in west coast cities in 2008 and into 2009!
