Samira was born in Germany in 1988. Ever since she was a little girl music has played a huge role in her life, helping her to express her emotions. Writing songs is like writing diary, to her.
At the age of 11 she wrote her first own song about a boy she had a crush on. Turning 13 her mother, who has always been very supportive, finally let her have singing lessons. One year later she took part in the German TV-castingshow "Teenstar", where she had her first TV performances. At the age of 15 she became the lead singer of the soul-/jazzband "Jasper" for the next four years. In 2004/2005 she spent one year with an exchange program in Michigan, USA. That year helped her singing a lot: she took singing lessons from a very competent American teacher, was a member of Bay City Central''s Varsity choir and performed in various talent shows. Returning to Germany in 2005 Didi, a great musician and songwriter (whose son she already went to kindergarten with), gave her a CD with songs he composed.
They clicked right away: the songs Didi creates and the themes Samira writes about fit perfectly. Thanks to the help of many other people, they finally had the chance of producing their first album called "reflection" with ten wonderful songs. All of the songs were recorded quite quickly without the best equipment, since they have not had the money for a huge, perfect production yet. The songs Samira writes about deal with all different kinds of things and situations. Some are about friendship, some about love and relationships, others critic certain circumstances of our society such as child abuse or the gap between wealth and poverty. Few songs are autobiographical, most describe situations people in Samira''s environment have experienced or are about made up scenarios that may happen to anybody. No matter what song of the album you hear, it is a song you need to close your eyes and really listen to.
