Tribu Ultravioleta is not a tribe but a multifaceted musician named José “Cebolla” Briceño who tries to immerse the public in his chill-out energy through the sound of his various beats. Those who know how to appreciate his style are automatically part of his tropical, sun-bathed clan.
The repertoire included in his first CD (Guayabera y Análogos), where he plays all instruments, are sensual and relaxing themes that at the same time entice you to dance along the sea shore holding a piña colada; perhaps this is because they were inspired by the oceanic aroma of Margarita Island and also on his favorite artists: Brian Eno, Tito Rodríguez, Ensamble Gurrufío, Orbital, Café Tacuba, U2, Ruben Blades and traditional Venezuelan rhythms.

Otto Aristiguieta, Carlos Badiola, Ismael Reyes among others.

The concept of Guayabera y Análogos is to recreate sensations, reviving the nostalgia of a reality perceived from afar. Tribu Ultravioleta knows how to impregnate space with a musical style that becomes excellent company whichever the place. With a sensitive melody you can feel the breeze at sunset in a spectacular beach, and later, with a faster rhythm that merges different styles, you feel as if you’re driving through an autochthonous Latin town, heading home.
José describes his music as “sweet n’ sour with an artisan touch”, and in the song Almojábana which appears in the CD Chill Out Venezuela one can perceive the susceptible, adventurous, fun and intellectual sense of its composer; but the rest of the musical pieces: Disco Music, Hyperson, Suite Tovaruquense, La Playa, etc should not be forgotten since once you listen to them, they remain forever tattooed in your memory.
