John Ulrich is an amazing guitarist with over 23 years of experience under his belt. This 27 year old Montana native (Who now resides in Corvallis, Oregon) has been playing since about the age of four and has studied and listened to many artists including The Beatles, John Denver, Garth Brooks, John Williams, Beethoven, Pearl Jam, Pat Matheny, Damien Rice, Vivaldi, and his biggest influence to date, Dave Matthews. John plays a variety of instruments including the saxophone, harmonica, keyboard/piano, mandolin, guitar ( acoustic, electric, 12 string), and has an extensive knowledge of foot pedals and sound effects. John believes he, "Has the ability and talent of leading a group of musicians, and the audience, into deep emotional levels of music." He does this by building complex intricate compositions that are known for their space and dissonance. John''s music is described to some as a mix between Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson.
The C.D. Xanadu was Recorded in Black Lab Studios in Spokane, WA with prodigy and sound engineer Joe Verella. The C.D. encompasses a large variety of songs to delve into many emotions of love, celebration, political insight, and spirituality.
Special guest musicians helping out in collaboration with the creation of the C.D. include Joe Verella (percussion/Piano) Patrick Pugh (Guitar FX), Jermaine Carlton (Saxophonist) Danielle Clark (Harp), Shane Taylor (Bass Guitar) Glen Phillips (Violin), Zoe Boyen (Cello), and Allison Kromer (Female Vocals).
