Details:
Eric Erskine
Singer/Songwriter

Eric Erskine immediately eases the soul into his calming sea of music.
Combining elements of pop, folk and rock, Eric delivers songs that can elicit emotions, provoke the mind, or just relax the body. With a unique vocal and writing style Eric takes the listener on a musical journey with varied but integrated themes and musical styles.

An early connection to music, lyrics and performance led Eric down a musical path at a young age. Studying both guitar and voice gave him the tools to pursue his passion for writing and singing. Music grounds his life whether it be working in the recording studio or performing in front of an audience. Paying his dues touring nationally for many years, Eric settled back in New Hampshire and into songwriting.

In early 1997 Eric began working with acclaimed musician, singer/songwriter and producer Tom Dean. From the very beginning it was apparent that Dean’s production style was a perfect fit for Erskine’s songwriting. With Tom’s guidance Eric progressed both as a songwriter and musician. Their efforts would come to fruition with the release of Eric’s highly anticipated “November” CD in 2000. Over the past eight years Erskine has teamed up with Dean to release 3 more albums. “Still Life” and “Digital Age” received rave reviews and helped Eric stand out as a singer/songwriter. His latest CD “Thinking Out Loud” was released in late 2007.

November
by Bennie Green

Eric Erskine has been around, literally, having done the singer / songwriter and top 40 bit on the West Coast as well as in these parts. The result is a nicely rounded songwriting touch and a super vocal presentation that occasionally rings of Dan Fogelberg in each of their upper registers.

The songs are in fact so good that a publishing deal alone would make Erskine a household name. " The Ballad of Martha Brown " perfectly evokes the sad spectacle of people obliviously growing old, then becoming expendable to even the people closest to them. I can hear any number of country or pop crooners, male or female, singing the ready-to-fall-in-love-again song " Isn''t It Time " in front of some poignant video backdrop. Likewise "Innocent Eyes," written to a child about grief sure to come.

Really, it''s rare in Maine or anywhere else to find a guy like Erskine, whose voice is pure and whose songwriting is the envy of those who don''t have the knack. November is so good that we''ll even allow that the total lack of credits might be due to the fact that our copy was a cassette dub. Remember the name.

People who are interested in Dan Fogelberg Tracy Chapman Damien Rice should consider this download.
