This 27 year old singer/songwriter hails from Hull, Massachusetts. At the tender age of 4, Jessi began taking piano lessons and at age 16, she bought her first guitar and began writing music. Jessi’s original music is influenced by various classic rock artists she listened to as her mom drove her around in their family’s VW camper van, as well as contemporary American and International folk/pop musicians.
In college, Jessi performed at Cazenove and Munger Halls, as well as Molly’s Pub. Due to the wonderfully small and close-knit world of folk music and the enthusiasm of friends Jess Bernfeld and Rebecca Katz, Jessi secured a live broadcast on Rebecca’s show on Brandeis University radio at 100.1 WBRS. Post college, Jessi has played frequently at various open mic nights around Massachusetts (Club Passim, Natick Arts Center, Black Thorne Tavern, The Snug, Paddy Barry''s, Yesterday''s, McGreal''s Tavern). Jessi has also played per invitation for Jon Goodhue and Friends at Cameron''s in Gloucester, MA. In March, she performed at both the Oasis Coffeehouse in Waltham and the Cantab Lounge in Cambridge.
A high school history teacher by day and rock star by night, Jessi released her debut studio album, 10:17, in May of 2008 with Sound in the Hall Records.
For the last three years, Jessi has been a member of tooSTUPIDtoBLINK, a cover/original acoustic guitar duo, with Jake Sauer. Together they have gigged at various venues in the Greater Boston area (Sky Bar, All Asia, Kirkland Cafe, Jo''s Nautical, Paddy Barry''s).
Matt Putnam, Massachuetts singer/songwriter and host of Paddy Barry’s open mike, says of Jessi: “The word "dynamic" just isn''t enough to describe Jessi. She has a powerhouse voice, plays killer guitar, and her enthusiasm is contagious.”
Recently ''Surrender'' has been featured on Martha''s Vineyard Internet Radio, and ''Haunted'' was a Top 10 Contemporary-Folk song on https://www.tradebit.com. ''Finally'' is being played on https://www.tradebit.com. Jessi was also a feature artist during iRADIO LA''s Indie Talk web interview with Sound in the Hall Records.
