Laurie began singing gospel music at the young age of 5 and has continued her love in music ever since, especially country. She started playing piano at the age of 7 and later the acoustic guitar. "My father taught me a few chords, and it went from there." She enjoys playing the piano, guitar and learning other instruments.
Growing up in rural NC, her passion for country music continued to grow until finally one of her dreams came true. In 1997, she, along with her husband, Eric, established a country/rock group called "Hicksboro Station". What a great group of guys & a gal!"
Hicksboro Station opened for many national acts such as, Exile, Confederate Railroad, Ronnie McDowell, T. Graham Brown, Toby Keith, Craig Morgan, Rascal Flatts, Ty Herndon, and Darryl Worley.
This CD is dedicated to 3 Emma’s (Daughter Emma, Aunt Emma Carol Luffman & Grandmother Emma Keeton).
On stage you may find Laurie standing behind her double tier stand playing her Alesis and/or Yamaha OR all over the stage playing her Roland AX-1, of which she atracts the most attention. Having her AX-1 and being wireless vocally has given her the freedom to move about. "I just can''t stand still! There''s nothing like good country music, and I love singing it!" As one fan put it, she''s "country to the bone".
This talented ambitious country performer, daughter of Marshall "Pete" and Nora Keeton, grew up in a family of six (2 brothers and 1 sister) in the small rural community of Hicksboro, North Carolina.
