Its members, Kevin Williams - (drums, vocals), Joe Monticello - (guitar, vocals), and Gabe Monticello - (bass, vocals), bring to the stage over 20 years of combined experience and an unprecedented fusion of the artistic with the accessible.
Guido''s Hand unites the spirit of musical adventure from the great progressive rock and jazz-fusion bands of the 1970''s with the grit and savvy of today''s remnants of grunge. The result is explosive, at times-surreal, and always mesmerizing. Their music continuously surprises its listener, and then promptly convinces him that no conventions of rock have been violated.
Guidos'' Hand was first formed by brothers Joe and Gabe Monticello around 1995. The band was in large part a diversion from the classical training they were receiving at Valdosta State University. Upon graduation, Gabe left the band to pursue a Masters degree in Music at The University of Florida. Joe joined the Shazam in which he formed a partnership with drummer Kevin Williams. The band met local success but would soon disband due to musical conflicts. Gabe soon graduated from the University of Florida, composed a rock opera, Scissorman, with Mark Taormina, and was ready for something new. When Joe asked him to rejoin the fold, he immediately agreed and Guido''s Hand was born again.
