Gwen is a native of Los Angeles, California. Growing up in a pastoral family, she has always loved the people of God and the church. Ministry for Pastor Gwendolyn has been very natural. She began singing at the age of 2, directing & teaching choirs at the age of 7 and teaching and preaching God''s Word after accepting Christ in her life at the age of 13.
God''s plan for her is being actualized in her life of full-time ministry. She is the founder and CEO of God Answers Prayer Ministries, Inc. (God Answers Prayer Records & Philabob Music) and Suddenly Single Ministries. She has independently produced/released 2 solo CD''s "Grateful"; "It''s Christmas. Rejoice!" and is in pre-production for #3 "Songs From My Soul". As an author she has self-published the book "I''m So Grateful - 10 Things To Be Grateful For" and is currently writing "Waiting on My Lunch Date" (detailing her life as a widow). She has written several bible study series and a contributing writer to the Wisdom & Grace Devotional Bible for Young Women of Color (Nia Publishing).
This ordained Elder in the AME Church now serves as pastor of Walker Chapel A.M.E. Church, Seattle, WA. and Director of Public Relations-Pacific Northwest Conference. Pastor Gwendolyn has served as pastor of Gregg Memorial AME Church, Omaha, NE. and Assoc. Pastor of Bethel AME Church, Omaha with late husband Rev. Leander Coates.
Pastor Gwendolyn loves the Lord. Her ministry will invite you into the deep regions of the Word of God through preaching, teaching or singing with clarity, insight, humor and wisdom.
She is the mother of three, Faundsworth (Michella) , LaNicia and Philip, grandmother of Mikkel.
