The original concept for Sky-Pilot came some twenty-five years ago from Larry Fellows [Rhythm Guitar/Vocals], Paul Lambert [Bass Guitar/Vocals] at that time, now Lead Guitar/Vocals and Tom Smeltzer [Lead Guitar/Vocals]. They were in a band called Special Delivery. When they felt the need to change their musical direction, they formed a group known as Joyful Noise. Tom Lambert [Bass Guitar/Vocals] was added at this time. Robin Hirst [Drummer/Vocals] came shortly after and this was the band for the next ten years. The style and path we follow now was established at that time.
Through trials and moves of God, Tom Smeltzer and Rob Hirst left the band. For a period of time, the band was in limbo. There was a drummer or two, then Larry decided he was finished. During this time, Paul and Rob would see each other on the street and came to the decision to try and restart the band. Larry came back, Neil Gettig [Percussion/Vocals] was added, and we changed our name to Sky-Pilot. This arrangement worked for a while, but Rob had to move on. Rob now has a recording studio, and Recorded, Mixed, and Mastered this CD. Also, Rob is the drummer on this CD. Since he was our original drummer we felt it wouldn''t be right without his [Tasteful] drumming. At this time, Kevin Findley[Drummer] came on board and shortly after, Joseph Kalaman [Alto and Tenor Sax/Vocals] and Curt Nickel [Keyboards] joined. Kevin Findley had to leave and now, Jimmy Kalaman [Drummer/Vocals], Joe''s son, is our https://www.tradebit.comt recently, Cathy Bowker [Vocals] has jumped on board.
We are a Christian band with an average age of fifty eight. We grew up in the sixties and seventies and the style of the time shows up in our music. All of the songs on this CD are original. Composed by individuals in the band. Each song has a unique message for the listeners. It has taken some thirty years to produce this CD. We are very proud of it. It is the culmination of those years of testing, changing, and waiting on the Lord. Everything is accomplished in God''s good time. For His Glory......Amen
