Hanuman is an Acoustic Instrumental band from Seattle, WA. The band originally began as a spin-off of the legendary acoustic trio, Trillian Green, but soon developed a sizeable following of their own. In their 7-year lifespan as a band, Hanuman went through 3 personnel changes, and managed to release 4 full length CDs: 2 Live & 2 Studio. Pedalhorse, the band''s 2nd studio CD, released in the Spring of 2000, received national acclaim.
SHINE, the band''s 2002 Live release was recorded at Richardson County Fairgrounds in Eugene, OR, in July of 2001, and was the opening set for The Mickey Hart Band (featuring the Grateful Dead Drummer/Percussionist).
It was one of the final dates of a long tour & the band was incredibly hot. The show was recorded direct to DAT & features optimum live sound quality (as well as crowd noise).
After the band''s break-up in 2002, Jarrod Kaplan (percussionist) went on to perform with TAARKA, and Scott Law went on to perform with (Jerry Garcia Band Keyboardist) Melvin Seals. Members of Hanuman periodically reunite to do cameo shows in the Pacific NW as "Hanuman Collective".
