Details:
Presenting the first release by Warning Track Records, a compilation of Birmingham''s best original power pop and roots rock artists!

The album kicks off with the high powered rocker "That''s Cold" by Vulture Whale, a song that combines the swagger of the Stones, the power pop crunch of Cheap Trick, and the Southern sensibilites of REM. Next is "Everybody Hates Me" from the Magic City supergroup of the same name, a tune that sounds like it came straight from late 80''s college radio. David Seale offers "Don''t Look Away", a hook-laden gem powered by Les Nuby''s opening riff. Matthew Mayfield (formerly of Moses Mayfield - Sony Records) contributes "Dead To You", a beautiful song that showcases both his masterful songwriting as well as his expert musicianship. "Painted Windows" by Les Nuby (of Vulture Whale and formerly Verbena - Capitol Records) is a short, gorgeous track that is a gentle departure from the crunch of VW and shows off Nuby''s gift for melody. The album turns it up a notch for the next two songs; The Photonicas explode with their guitar driven cry, "Losing It", and modern rock power chords exclamate To Light A Fire''s "First Time". Sparrow brings the sound back down with the delicate "SR", a song that celebrates not only Karoline Parker''s songwriting but the golden voices of the two Sparrow sisters, reminiscient of Patti Griffin and Brandi Carlisle. The college rock groove of Jon Vogel''s "Big City Boy" is next, followed by Alabama rock veterans Three Hour Tour and their guitar-driven opus "Words Can Fail". The album concludes with the enigmatic Terry Ohms and the eclectic groove and picking of "I''m Into Entertainment".

This is the first compilation by Warning Track, and the level of fabulous music on this disc promises even more in the future. Moreover, the Warning Track Summer 2008 compilation proves that the Magic City is more than just football fans and American Idol winners; it''s city with a vital, diverse, and talented music scene.
