Hans Lueke was born in Westphalia, Germany, and has written over 60 song texts, many with seaman''s themes, as is the album he''s offering now. His father sailed for many years on merchant ships from Hamburg to South America. His grandparents lived in Germany''s largest harbor town, Hamburg. One song: Grandfather, show me the harbor, stems from childhood memories.
In addition to the songs of the sea, Hans has written texts for songs that could be classified as romantic.
Most of the seaman''s songs and many of the romantic ones have been arranged by Peter Meister, who lives in Germany. Hans offers the sheet music for those songs for artists who''d like to perform them.
