Henderson K. Shatner was born in San Francisco, California in 1967. Leaving home at age 16, after a brief stint in the United States Navy (from which he is currently AWOL, having departed the USS ENTERPRISE in Manilla) he served on several merchant marine transports and a tanker. Two collisions, an act of piracy and one storm sinking later he paid off in Hong Kong, swearing never to return to the sea. Amazingly, he managed to get through this all with only one small tattoo.
Ater time in Australia, the Far East, Scandinavia and Europe he now spends his time in London, UK, as bassist for Brand Violet (https://www.tradebit.com).
This album is a collection of songs gathered over more than 10 years on the high seas with nothing but a portable lap steel guitar and a ukelele (on which he learned to play bass). Some things come in handy aboard a lifeboat.
