Flemish born songwriter Carl Cleves, one half of the well-loved Hottentots, was awarded the national prize for Best Lyrics at the 2007 Australian Songwriter''s Association Award for his song, ''The Rose of Kordofan'' from his latest CD ''All Alone''.
