Headz Up was formed in 1997 almost as a fluke. Lead guitarist R.D. Snow had been jamming in his basement with several different musicians over a period of time. One night he invited keyboardist John Gutierrez over to his house for a jam session. In the basement that night was bassist Michael Nitro. Now the kicker is...these three guys had played together in a band called "Norwegian Wood" back in high school! After all this time "the boys were back!" It felt so good to be playing together again that they decided to give it another go. They named the band "HEADZ UP" and began the torturous search for a new drummer. After many auditions, with drummers everywhere, John suggested a guy named Phil Alvarez whom he had played in a band with several years earlier. Phil joined up and was with the band for almost three years when he decided it was time to move on. Enter the notorious Paul Allee, a drummer that Michael had worked with on stage and in the studio for the past fifteen years or better. Paul fit right in with the guys and the saga continues............
