To bring out the first own produced CD , prepare the Kian Lee Convention for exposure and presence on the internet, was a hard process with so much fun !
The Maxi CD: "Kian Lee Convention":
We love to present you our first CD called
"Kian Lee Convention", including 5 songs and an intro as well as an outro.
Because we are doing songs rooted in the 70ies, we thought it would be a nice thing to use the recording technique of the 70ies !
To get that warm and direct sound we rejected on this one to work digitally (no sound clones on this CD).
We worked analogue with only 16 tracks !
Each instrument and each vocal track is sung through, no psyhco effects and manipulations. So little flaws might be there - which gives these recordings it´s unique and living flavour that songs close to life - close to you need.
And now : here we are are ! The first CD, a maxi CD or better: EP is out ! It is available now, the homepage, the myspace site and other profiles are there. Ready to tune in this kianistic style: it´s when rock gets popped in a skydiving summerotic way. Close to live - close to you. Thank you to all the members of the Convention and all the fans.
The start :
The Kian Lee Convention was founded after Martin B. had seen Kian Lee performing his songs at the piano with his backgroundsingers and percussionist. Striking ! Martin immediately asked Kian to arrange his songs. After some fruitful sessions the Kian Lee Convention was born in March/April 2007.
The beginning and the heart of KLC:
During this year everything had to be created. Kian with his unique vocals, his excellent pianoplaying and of course the songs ! Rock and Pop songs , rooted in the 70ies. Songs close to life, close to you. It´s surprising when you tune in this kianistic style. Kian says, it´s when rock gets popped you skydive in a summerotic way ! To get a kianistic sound , Martin B. - an experienced solid bassplayer, also a superbe drummer and especially guitar player -is always listening deeply to the material Kian hands him over. His congenial sensibility brought him into the position to create that swaying and punching sound - a very well done combination of voice, piano and guitars in the centre of the music. Martin is doing the mixes and taking care of the technique as well. So the Kian Lee Convention decided to work as a creative duo soundwise.
Plans and the team:
It´s very crucial to have an excellent whole band and team ! This process of getting these together wasn´t easy and isn´t finished yet. Transforming the Kian Lee format into the Kian Lee Convention was paved with difficulties, but it is absolutely the best thing to do for Kian. This means integrating for example (Anne Lory, Eva E. Kaiser, the most loyal and talented backgroundsingers Kian met) was very hard. So Kian is taking care of the image as well. He is working with a globalized team (it´s a miracle - Kian says !). All of them are very gifted experts in his/her field/s. The graphic designer Simon Menard (Canada): responsible for the Logo, the homepage and this page, Hauke Tensfeldt (webprogramming), the graphic designer Candra Onggara (Indonesia): responsible for the realization of the CD covers, promomaterials, Mönchsleben (Postdam): responsible for lots of photos and all the videomaterial, the organisator and affiliate Meike Vincentia (Indonesia) as well as the marvellous actress Siri Moldenhawer (Berlin) who will be the most favoured videopartner of Kian and last but not least: his parents (Ireland). Even here we are performing a kianistic style. Kian tries to develop the ideas and leave everyone his/her space to contribute, realizing the vision. The first longplay album is in the make ! And the videos in summer in Ireland - to get really summerotic !
Goals:
The goal is: getting it all out - being present first, getting in touch with lots of fans and people to reach their hearts and minds all over the world. The homepage, the MySpace site is ready and prepared for you ! The first video clip is out. And the CD "Kian Lee convention" is out . The Kian Lee Convention is starting out now ! So tune in this kianistic vibe, let´s skydive, dance, dream, sing, groove and cry in a summerotic way. Get it out. Thank you to all the fans, and all the contributors and team members ! Kian: I´d love to do songs that have a message, a storyline, a vision, songs that transport emotions and moods.
Sometimes I´m happy, sometimes I´m thoughtful, sometimes I´m nostalgic, sometimes I´m stupid (Hey - everyone should have the right to be stupid atleast 20 minutes a day !...haha...), I mean - it´s not that I want people listening always to the lyrics - but if they want to, it´s there. There´s something there. Not hot air, wrapped in mega productions and a good PR campaign only.
But I always try to remember: music can reach everyone directly.... I´ d love the moods, getting people https://www.tradebit.com dance and sing, to dream, to cry, to listen and to do whatever they love to do....and if that´s happening, then songs close to life - close to you are real living songs - worth to be heard.
The funny thing about emotions is: happy feelings are mostly regarded as superficial, naive. Sadness and melancholy are mostly regarded as deep and true so this is supposedly better.
I think it´s vice versa, because it´s much harder to work and to climb up to be happy than to fall down and destroying everything, which is very simple.
So - to write the "ultimate" song of happiness...is for me the bigger challenge than writing the sad and nostalgic songs.
