Biography
Andalou started in the summer of 2007, when Jhina bought an electric pick-up for her cello. Inspired by an anime Halloween costume gone completely wrong, she and vocalist/synth player Sha decided to form a band. With a few song ideas emerging, it was decided that they needed a drummer, and Adam was asked to join the band. The chemistry between them was strong, and as more ideas developed into finished songs, it became apparent that a guitar player was needed. Along came Devin, and with the lineup complete, the band set forth to polish their sound, which incorporates the rich, melodic sounds of Bjork, with the indie-rock edginess of Cursive.
Andalou has since recorded their first EP, entitled "Defaults in Design", which was released in May of 2008. The band is currently playing shows to a rapidly developing fan base throughout the Bay Area.
