Cincinnati''s King Records was arguably the most important independent record company after World War II. James Brown, Wynonie Harris, Freddie King, the Stanley Brothers, and Little Willie John are among the artists whose songs have become permanent fixtures in the annuls of music history. Particularly noteworthy of King is its legacy on inclusion. Its story is of discovering talent in unlikely places, of infusing different cultures and styles together to create legendary artistry. It was with these beliefs and practices that King produced a catalogue of music that earned its founder a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The Hidden Treasures CD project aims to increase awareness of the good that happens when people of diverse experiences are included. All proceeds from the sale of the CD benefit the Inclusion Network. The executive producers are Dr. Neal H. Mayerson, president of the Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation and Board president of the Inclusion Network, and Dale Rabiner, founder of J-Curve Records. Pat Kelly is the producer.
