Chandni, an Indian word meaning "night light"- like starlight and moonlight, or in Hjortur''s mind it could also be lights from satellites or signals from the universe straight into your mind. Light - is what we see...
Hjortur has been busy; this is his 4th release this year! He has released an album called "Work" under the name "Alfarspace", and a single "I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow" under his own name. On the 13th of August he released "Humanize" under the name "The Mercuriis". This song has been played a lot on the Danish Radio Barometer Netradio.
This new album "Chandni" is very soft, and the few words on it are really thought-provoking... like the song "The Paradoxical Commandments". The words were written by Mr. Kent M. Keith in 1968 and have traveled all around the world and into Hjortur''s mind and from there onto this album with music really matching the words.

The story behind The Paradoxical Commandments (track #2)
For more than thirty years, The Paradoxical Commandments have circled the globe. They have been put on walls and refrigerator doors, featured in speeches and articles, preached from pulpits, and shared extensively on the web. They have been used by business leaders, military commanders, government officials, religious leaders, university presidents, social workers, teachers, rock stars, parents, coaches, and students. Mother Teresa thought the Paradoxical Commandments were important enough to put up on the wall of her children''s home in Calcutta.
The Paradoxical Commandments have touched the hearts of millions of people all over the world.
The Paradoxical Commandments were written by Kent M. Keith in 1968 as part of a booklet for student leaders.
"In the year 2000 I found these words on the Internet" says Hjortur. "The title I found was Words To Live By (also called "Anyway"), and I composed the music and spoke these fine words to it. In 2004 I decided to release the music on my next album, "Chandni". So I looked all over for the author and found him in Honolulu, Hawaii. I was at that time aware of that the title is The Paradoxical Commandments".
