The Hooker Street Band is a Boston/Providence based rock band with a creative and thoughtful take on the genre. Frontman/songwriter Josh Levine''s knack for catchy, poppy melodies and lyrical sincerity has been turning heads since the band''s inception in January 2004. Drawing from musical influences as far apart as Neil Young and Weezer, Levine takes fresh aim at the familiar topics of hopefulness during rough times, the consumer society, flirting, moving on.....oh yeah and love. The band''s live set features vibrant dynamics driven by a spunky rhythm section, tasteful guitar work by Providence native George Leonard, lots of energy and fun, and on a good night their t-shirts are even color coordinated.
