This project includes 13 original songs featuring worship songs, ballads and one love song for my wife, Barbie. “My Home Is Where You Are” was written only a couple of weeks after I met her. The song has been private for 28 years but is now on this CD.
The song “The Lifter of My Head” uses the lyrics of King David in Psalm 3 which I wrote musically as a modern Christian worship song. I like the way David sings in confidence when he faced a low point in his life, “Thou O Lord, are a shield for me, the glory and the lifter of my head.” There is such a triumphant note in his words in the midst of life’s trials.
The theme “Time Fades Away” is one with which I have been fascinated the last few years. I’ve lived long enough to have passed through enough seasons to appreciate the value of time and to realize that we pass through some seasons never to see them again. Several of these songs deal with time, seasons and especially the words of Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 “There is a time to everything and a season for every activity under heaven.” The song “Winds of Change” also explores this theme.
The song writing style and musical compositions ranges from folk ballads, to classic rock to jazz. I trust you will enjoy the music and appreciate the lyrics which aim to glorify God for all His gifts to us and for the gift of life with all its changing seasons.
