Details:
The Honky Donkey showed up in Austin a few years back, decided to make a record, used a host of local musicians. and ended up with this e.p.
He ever did 5 triumphant shows at Antone''s, one of the finest clubs in the country. Accompanied by the Moo Goo Gai Band - 3 piece horn section, 4 piece rhythm section (love that Hammond organ), and fine lookin'' backup singers that escorted him to & from the stage.
I don''t know where his clothes came from. I am not sure that I want to know.
For those interested in the gory details, it was recorded at The Slaughterhouse by Mark Addison (except for two bits: the ''Reprise'' version of the title track was taped live off the air from the Dudley & Bob morning show on KLBJ; and an acoustic guitar and vocal for ''Peaches'' [arguably the best song on the disc] which were recorded in a Munich Hotel room. It had such charm & character that they were used as the base for the song).
Buy it. Turn on your love machine.
You''ll never think of Chinese food the same way, I promise.
And yes, there are rumors of more music coming soon.
