Producer, Project Director. Rev. Dr. E. Bonnie Devlin. This 5-year musical project culminated in this high-powered CD called ''The Drum and the Chalice.'' It is a celebration of word drumming, featuring styles from Haiti (with a cool church choir!), Africa, Cuba, Puerto Rico, India, Indonesia, along with drum improvisations and meditations. This musical journey is part of the "Different Drummers Project" and included drumming folks from liberal and interfaith religious traditions to celebrate the Spirit and Common Ground which we can all share. Bonnie Devlin is minister, music therapist, educator and award-winning world percussionist. Her first solo CD "Action of Grace" received international acclaim through Lyrichord Discs, and she has recorded on many other CDs. She is still the only woman to be initiated as a Drum Master (Huntogi)in the Haitian Vodou religious tradition. Her life is devoted to promoting multicultural awareness and social justice through music, the arts and spirituality.
