Formed in the coastal city of Brighton UK 2004 by Poppy Gonzalez (Mojave 3/Dreamfield) Peter Simmons (Harbour) and Katie Mummery(Harold Heath) - Hush Collector came together with a mutual desire to record an album of candid songs from the heart and of an organic sounding nature.
The sound emerging has been described as ''spacious and restrained with a potent melancholic beauty - with songs that shimmer with warmth and melody'' (and generally take a lethargic tempo). Focus has grown around the intimate, country-tinged harmonies of Katie and Poppy, which drift over the laid-back yet edgy riffs supplied by guitarrist Pete Simmons. Lyrics lean towards life, death, love and plain old fashioned heartache.
As a taster, this debut release, which is receiving very warm reviews (scroll down to view) brings you the bands first tracks recorded at Julian Tardo''s Church Road Studio. Live dates in suitably intimate surroundings are planned for the autumn 05.
