Details:
"An exceptional down and dirty, salt of the earth rock-n-roll band from Oklahoma....Hurricane Mason recalls Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Deep Purple, AC/DC and The Black Crowes even as they establish themselves as a top shelf band in their own right."--Ronan Chris Murphy, LA Grammy Nominated Producer/Mix Engineer

ABOUT THE CD:
Looking for some down right awesome rock & roll....then this is the CD for you. "Its Only Miles" is the bands tribute to life on the road. Having played over 150 dates last year, Hurricane Mason, can attribute to the fact that it''s not always easy being the one of the hardest working indie bands, but is sure can be a lot of fun.

"Its Only Miles", the bands second album, the first since 2002''s hard rocking "Cast Iron Constitution", captures that "party on the road" feeling in tunes like "Nasty Rock & Roll" and "Angus Young", both tracks are heavily influenced by the sound of AC/DC, the latter in particular standing as a tribute to one of the greatest pioneers of rock guitar.

The album is chock full of well written brilliantly arranged tunes that everyone can relate to. The music is upbeat and infectious. Rounding out this powerhouse album is a cover of Warren Haynes'' (of The Allman Brothers, The Dead and Govt'' Mule fame) classic song "Soulshine" that can not be missed.

"It''s Only Miles" boasts a surprisingly diverse guest list that includes sultry jazz vocalist Annie Ellicot (daughter of 60''s SF Bay-area bassist Rod Ellicot, who was a member of Cold Blood), Tulsa piano legend Rocky Frisco, organ monsters Jack Wolfe and Robert Day as well as Harmonious Monk guitarist Sean Al-Jibouri. Les Moorman (studio engineer, producer) shows up on the band''s version of the Allman Brothers/Gov''t Mule classic "Soulshine" that closes out the 10 song collection.

ABOUT THE BAND:
On the simplest level, Hurricane Mason is a band from Tulsa, OK solidly built on the collective passion, creativity and soul of friends getting together to celebrate rock''s golden era. A second look reveals that underneath the hard exterior of this wooly, fuzzed out beast lies a golden heart of buckskin clad, flannel shirt and blue jeans heartland rock-n-roll.

Piloting this rock & roll thrill ride is Matt Mason (guitar and vocals), a salty player full of grit and fire - A talented writer, singer and guitarist who writes acoustic songs of emotion and electrifies them for the rock & roll audience. Matt is joined by Shawn Montgomery (percussion and vocals) - Often compared to Bonham of Zeppelin and Moon of The Who, this frenzied drummer is the driving force of the band. Thrashing and full of excitement...just what rock-n-roll demands of the rhythm section. Combine this with his thought provoking lyrics, he becomes a vital part of the whole picture. Completing the power trio is Ron Martin(bass and vocals) - This veteran found his voice as a teen and has been playing and touring the country ever since. His credits include backing numerous Blues greats such as Buddy Guy, Elvin Bishop and James Peterson, just to name a few. He lays a thunderous and thick groove to the hard driving sound of the band and layers backing vocals with the ease of a seasoned pro.

It''s a mature sound that screams as loud whether casting shadows in smoky clubs or shining in the spotlight of rock arenas. It''s the heart & soul of a sound custom built for the stage. This is part of the "Tulsa Sound" that you haven''t heard yet!.
