Details:
HAZE a.k.a. Hazell (hayes-L) is an up and coming hip-hop artist out of the Midwest. Haze (real name Landon Jackson) is 27 years old and originally from Columbus Ohio. After discovering hip-hop at a young age, Haze decided that he wanted to be a rapper & began changing the words of popular songs to recite them for friends. Over time, he developed a very distinct style of writing and rhyming his own words that could be best described as a new age Midwest flow with a Down South bounce. After years of going about his music as a hobby, HAZE began showcasing his rhymes in school talent shows and soon caught the eye of multiple producers in Columbus. Super producers R&G Productions selected HAZE to be featured on a new album they were working on titled “Da Last Resort.” Rhythum & Ghetto released the album in early 1998 with great success and gave HAZE his first real taste of the industry. Soon after, another local artist named L-Bow recruited HAZE to guest appear on 2 tracks for his album tilted “The Mission” which was also released with great success in early 2001. HAZE’s growing popularity was being noticed throughout the Midwest which eventually prompted independent label owner Owen Ratliff to feature HAZE on a double CD compilation titled “Midwest Funk Volume 3.” The album also featured guest appearances by Twista, Coo-Coo Cal, Mo Thugs and Soulja Boy. Though the albums sold many records in Ohio and surrounding states, the regional success wasn’t enough for HAZE so he decided to take his own advice and begin building his own empire. With the help of his close friend Vincent “Crimanal” Williams, the two began recording songs in their basement and once again brought a strong buzz back to the streets of Columbus. The buzz traveled all the way to New York City where DMC of the legendary rap group Run DMC learned of HAZE’s talent and soon made a special trip to Columbus in search of the rapper. In a strange twist of fate, DMC and HAZE never got the chance to meet for business due to a scheduling error and the contact info HAZE was given was misplaced which ultimately left him back at square one. HAZE was devastated but took it well believing that if DMC came looking, then other record executives would also be interested. Although the streets were behind HAZE’s movement, he and his partner sought out many labels only to be turned away by most and mislead by others. In early 2005, Crimanal was fatally shot which resulted in HAZE losing his best friend and business partner. HAZE didn’t let the tragedy stop his work and continued writing but this time with the sense that he had to finish what they had started together. In 2006, after catching the ear of another up and coming business mogul named Luis Charger, HAZE once again got his chance to shine. Luis was blown away by HAZE’s talent and saw it as a golden opportunity for the both of them to make something great. With the help of Luis Charger, 2006 marked the beginning of a new empire and Real Live Dangerous Ent. LLC was founded making HAZE and Luis official entrepreneurs. HAZE’s “Real Live Dangerous” album was recorded in late 2007 and is being released independently under the RLD label. With the new album, Real Live DVD release and a new XXX video company in the works, 2008 promises to be a great year for HAZE, Luis and RLD Entertainment. Business in mind, HAZE will be a major figure in the hip-hop game and all entertainment for years to come. Real Live!
