Details:
Here''s the thing about Hit by a Bus: we do the music we do because we feel like it. It has to be complex, but accessible. It has to be personal, but identifiable. It definitely has to be as good--if not better--live as it is recorded. There isn''t any posturing in this band. We are what we are. No matching outfits, no synchronized stage movements, no personas. The show consists simply of the music and what it does for us and hopefully what it does for you.

After touring for four months in the summer of 2007, we went right into the studio with the now grammy-nominated producer Sylvia Massy-Shivy (System of a Down, Tool) to record new songs to combine with the previously-released Detonator EP for a full-length album, The Optimist''s Handgun. One of the new tracks will be featured on the After After Party Compilation, which will be distributed at participating McDonald''s. As this press kit is being typed up, the band is booking for shows for the summer, in hopes that we can hit the road and stay there.

Going back a little more, in 2006 we played festivals (Milwaukee Summerfest, Tulsa D-Fest, Albuquerque Hyperfest), we toured (Vans Warped Tour, toured with Greyscale from Reno, NV), and shared the stage with Alien Ant Farm, Trapt, and Authority Zero. Before the extensive tour of the summer of 2007, we opened for Flyleaf and Dropping Daylight, performed at SXSW, Hyperfest, and the San Diego Indie Music Fest.

So we''re pretty happy about what we''ve done and where we''re at now. But we still look forward to where we''re going. Like I said, we''ve got a tour to book this summer and we''re doing it all on our own: releasing our full-length album, booking our tour to support our full-length album, promoting the shows on our tour, making each show memorable, first for us, then for the crowd. I mean, lets face it, if your heart isn''t in it, why should the crowd''s be, right?
