MP3 Ice Mac Sea - Measure For Measure

This album of alternative rocking country techno-pop with a hip hop flavor was created by singer-songwriter Ice Mac Sea with help from musicians all over the country, via the internet.

8 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: Power Pop

Details:
Measure for Measure is no ordinary CD. Ice Mac Sea has created what he calls ''weird alternative rocking country-techno pop''. If this doesn''t sound strange enough, he recorded the album with musicians from chat rooms that he has never actually met.

Michael ''Ice'' McCrickard (you see what he did there?) had been making music unsuccessfully for 15 years but began using music software... on a PC he found in the road.
Knowing the odd background of the disc makes you appreciate the music more. Ice uses ''Country'' style vocals, with excellent harmonies in places, which have been modified by voice synthesisers to create his trademark style. The music itself is mainly synthesised due to its computer background but I would not go as far as to call it ''Techno''. The style has potential especially in the first half of the album; though it does go slightly downhill from track 4 onwards.

With everything into the blend a catchy country- pop sound would probably attract fans and the title track could be popular if enough people heard it. However ''Measure for Measure'' is somewhat of a one trick pony after the initial novelty has worn off.

The best tracks on the album are the straightforward sing alongs like ''Measure for Measure'' and ''Chop Chop Chop'', as well as the twangy guitars of ''The Great Delroy'' and ''Some kind of Funny Religion'' The latter song delves lyrically into politics and strangely enough, religion itself which goes well with Ice''s tongue in cheek humour. "I don''t see Osama bin Laden Lining up to crash a plane"

The CD has some good moments and some not so good moments but is definitely worth picking up if you''ve been wishing to try something a bit different.

Standout Tracks: ''Measure for Measure'', ''Chop Chop Chop'', ''The Great Delroy'' and ''Some kind of funny Religion''.
