ILLICIT

They are not a studio creation. They are four high school friends. Pretty Rick, Mr. Nito, D-B0 and Denairo, getting grimy in the rap game-no hairspray, no choreography, no make-up. Just four brothers "doin'' the damn thing", making music and dreams come true with ILLICIT BIZNEZ, their debut album CD on the 615 (Nashville) area based label, FELONIOUS RECORDS.

After rapping for seven plus years, ILLICIT had street credibility, but no album recorded. When their boy, Zilla da Felon started his label, they knew this was the opportunity they had been waiting for. Zilla introduced his friends to business partner, Maurice "Reece" Ferguson-CEO, FELONIOUS RECORDS and in a matter of one year; ILLICIT had a highly charted single, a debut album (ILLICIT BIZNEZ) and a strong fan base outside of their home base of Nashville. Meet the crew:

PRETTY RICK

A Kansas City native who came to Murfreesboro, TN by way of Georgia. This brilliant lyricist with a quick smile and ready answers is dedicated, talented and well rounded. Sighting influences from E-40 to Twista, Pretty Rick can deliver a flow for the East, the West or the Dirty South. He says, "We can get right in the studio, whatever you want to do. We have an arsenal, we can get down with cha''." He won''t tell you why they call him pretty, but he''ll let you know-"don''t test me in this game-don''t take kindness for weakness."

DENAIRO

A Cleveland native who moved to Murfreesboro, TN where he met his label mates in school and has been "reppin'' the dirty south" with them ever since. Denairo also carries diverse influences from Bones, Thugs & Harmony to UGK, adding yet another fresh element to ILLICIT''s overall style. Denairo saw an indie deal as "a chance to progress and grow something." He''s in the game because "its what I like, its what I''ve always wanted to do and a nigga can make a grip." They call him Denairo because he always keeps a little. Denairo says, "I''m a cool cat, I''m a cool person, just don''t ****with me!"

Mr. Nito

The native in the group, straight from the 3rd ward of Murfreesboro, TN where he and all of his label mates ended up in school together. He''s been at this since 1996, with one album now under his belt, he recognizes "It''s about quality, not quantity." He draws his influences from his own folks, NAS and JADAKISS. He also respects DR. DRE "to the fullest, because he keeps it coming through struggles." Mr. Nito is about loyalty and perseverance. "I feel God put us (Illicit) together for a reason, I wouldn''t quit for anything." He''s in the game to make a better way for his family. He says, "I''m going to rap until I get it."

D-BO

A Kosciusko, MS native who says, "I represent where I''m at, which is Tennessee." D-Bo has been at this since the mid -90''s when he started out as a solo artist. His cousin introduced him to Pretty Rick and they all "just got cool." D-Bo also was down for the chance to jump on the Felonious Record''s team when it was offered. He''s been riding with them and "rollin'' over the competition ever since." D-Bo also has broad musical influences including UGK and TOO SHORT because "you can feel him, its real." They call him D-Bo because he''s good with his hands, but he''s counting on his mouth to put him at the top of the game, which he plays for the love and the money.
