MP3 It's My Party - Can I Get To Know You Better?

Teens singing in the tradition of the ''60s girl groups. A brilliant record that actually sounds like it was done in the early 60s.

CD BABY EDITOR''S NOTE: You HAVE to hear this! Everyone at CD Baby thought it was a real recording from the 60''s until we noticed the 2000 copyright date. Brilliant album.

Can I Get To Know you Better? That''s what everyone who has heard or seen these three winsome misses says, so why should we be any different? Let''s get to know IT''S MY PARTY!, right now!

Does Rhian have a boyfriend? "Yes, I have a boyfriend, and that boy Dan, he''s so fine. People say we''re too young to get married, but he''s the kind of boy you can''t forget." A kid at heart, Rhian likes Reese''s Pieces and roses, the color violet and soccer. Her idea of a great meal is salmon fishcakes and a French vanilla latte!

Rhian may be spoken for, but don''t despair guys! Twin sister Cara is, "Still searching for Mr. Right," and, at age 15, she has some time to spare. Like her sister, she is from jolly old England. She loves to sip tea, munch on Bruegger''s bagels and play basketball. The way to her heart is with tiger lilies and a caramello bar. She finds the color red irresistible. "But I''m easy to please. After all, when the boy''s happy, the girl''s happy, too."

Rounding out IT''S MY PARTY! is Aubrey. At age 16, she''s the old-timer of the trio and a born-and-bred Bostonian to boot. She''s a fiend for milkshakes and cotton candy. "I don''t have a boyfriend right now," (No wonder, her favorite munchie is garlic bread.) "but I have my eye on a couple of boys." I''ll bet they have their eyes on you, too, Aubrey! You''ll spot Aubrey dressed in lavender and carrying daffodils, her favorite flower. "I''m not gonna sit around wishin'' and hopin'' to be Bobby''s girl, dreamin'' that our day will come. Finding a guy who''s not a heartbreaker is easier said than done!"

Right you are, Aubrey.

I''ve been telling my friends and radio listeners for years what I would do if I won the lottery. I''d hire a great early girl group, say The Angels or The Pixies Three. Then I''d snag some writer, such as Ellie Greenwich or Johnny Madara. Next I''d corral a producer such as Abner Spector. Finally, I''d round up players from the so-called "Wrecking Crew," as well as my producer''s favorite arranger and engineer.

My goal in all this? To have some "new oldies," something different for me and other oldies fans to listen to and for oldies radio stations to play. To create the old feel, but with a fresh, modern, CD spin.

Thanks to producer John Giotto and IT''S MY PARTY!, my goal of having fabulous new oldies has been unexpectedly and totally achieved! He surpassed any expectation I ever had, and I didn''t even have to play the lottery!

Enjoy, I know I do!
