Born on April 3 1988 in Brooklyn NY, Michaeljohn Clarke was just a child who was supposed to die. From birth his mother was told by the doctors that either she would lose her life, or the baby. God decided differently. The baby boy grew up strong and healthy brought up in church, and was taught the ways of the lord. But although he was raised in a Christian environment, the devil was still working secretly in his life. Peer pressure, drugs, gang activity was still surrounding him, influencing him, changing him, until the only thing he knew was sin. This was all up to the age of eleven. Then God, as he always does, stepped in for his servant, and pulled him away from the enemy.
God works in mysterious ways, in ways you will never understand. On March 27, 2000 Michaeljohn Clarke died in Kings County Hospital from Medical Malpractice. But there was more for him to do; he couldn’t be taken away from the work ahead of him. You see the lord allowed the world to take his life, so he could bring back a new creature. He needed Michaeljohn to know that the only one that has control, the one that can make you or break you, was God. On March 27, 2000 Michaeljohn Clarke was brought back to life. He promised at that very young age that he would live for Christ, he knew his walk would be a hard one, and he knew he wasn’t perfect yet, but his faith was now, too strong, to be fooled by the worldly things. He couldn’t look to anyone else for help now, because he knew the man who could give more than help, he could give life. Michael only came to this conclusion after he went, Onto Glory. He was in debt.
The Christian walk isn’t the easiest, it is the hardest, it is the longest. The true measure of strength, control, and will power, is tested on the Christian walk. At the age of 14 he discovered that, he was a poet. He spent hours in the back of classrooms, in his bedroom, on the computer, writing poetry. His words flowed into each other, as the river flows into the seas and lakes, mixing and creating something bigger and better. The words, ignited into fires that ran across the readers, and the listeners, as if they were the forest themselves, consumed by the fires. And he knew that he could use these words to hurt, to heal, to rejoice, to VENT and get messages across. His greatest poem is “MY SKIN KNOWS” a poem written from the heart dictating the racism in the past present and future of America. But there was more to these words, he could seduce the minds of readers he realized. And that’s when the devil stepped in again.
Sex is the number one destruction of many men and woman of the race. The devil knew this from the beginning, that if you throw something that looks good in the path of a servant, he will become distracted. Michael was easily distracted by girls, writing poetry for them, trying his best to seduce. He later realized that he could sing, and the devil tried to use that too, offers coming from major record companies. People showed him a path that was the easy way to do things, suggestions from everyone, coming from every where. But that is the only thing the devil can do, suggest. The worldly songs he wrote, from the publics’ eyes, were ok songs, catchy, seductive, but the question remained, where is the message? At the age of eighteen he completely gave his heart to the lord. He was baptized, not only in the water, but in the Holy Ghost. He wrote a song that year. A song that showed the pain of a young lady in his life, and it was the first song he wrote, that had a message. “MRS UNDERSTOOD” was written for the youth. The words flowed together, as if coming from God himself. Michael finally knew what he had to do.
The youth needed a voice; they needed someone to tell their stories. He decided he would take on the job. Take up the ministry. Tell of his Conversations with God, speak Of the Misunderstood, and tell of the world, through the youths eyes. Now at the age of 20, Michaeljohn has dedicated his life to being an evangelist, and a prophet, going throughout the world speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ for the conversion of souls. With the completion of his album “Onto Glory” Michaeljohn is working hard to let the world know that a day is coming where man will have no say, and the rocks will cry out, for when they look for the messengers, we will be onto glory.
